Avocats Conceptual Web App

Crafting connections: The story of Avocats.

Role: Product/UX/UI Designer (solo)

Timeline: Concept sprint

Scope: Light research & persona hypotheses, value proposition, user flows, IA, low→high-fidelity prototypes, UI kit, usability walkthroughs

Problem: People struggle to quickly find the right specialist lawyer (by domain, language, and availability) and book with confidence.

What I did

End-to-end concept: user research and personas, flows and onboarding, low- to high-fidelity prototypes, UX writing and UI design.

Outcome

Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into simple connection flows and a coherent, scalable IA in a coursework prototype.

The Process and Outcome

  • During my time in school at CareerFoundry, I embarked on a project close to my heart: Avocats. It was born from a desire to bridge the gap between those seeking guidance and those ready to share their expertise. It was about making connections between people and industry experts in a world where we often feel lost in the noise.

  • My journey began by listening closely to the stories and struggles of potential users. I immersed myself in their experiences, aiming to understand not just what they wanted, but why they wanted it. Through trial and error, I crafted prototypes that were not just functional but felt like a natural extension of the user's needs. And throughout it all, I kept a humble mindset, knowing that the real experts were the ones I was designing for.

  • Avocats emerged as a humble yet powerful tool for connection. It wasn't flashy or grandiose, but it was effective. Its objective was to connect lawyers around the globe to those in need of their expertise. So a simple onboarding process welcomes users into a community where seeking help feels natural. The sign-up flow was designed to feel like joining a conversation, not filling out a form. And the experts? They were everyday heroes, ready to lend a hand without fanfare.

  • Though conceptual, Avocats showcases my ability to empathise with user needs and translate them into a functional and engaging digital experience. The virtual launch of Avocats wasn't about making headlines; it was about making a difference. Users found solace in knowing that help was just a click away, and experts found fulfillment in sharing their knowledge with those who needed it most. It wasn't just a platform; it was a community—a place where people could come together, learn from each other, and grow.

Conclusion

Avocats was a lesson in humility and humanity. It reminded me that the best designs aren't the ones that shout the loudest, but the ones that listen the closest. As I continue on my journey as a UX/UI designer, I carry that lesson with me, knowing that the most meaningful connections are the ones forged with empathy and understanding.
